Our dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2002 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born to William and Margaret Booth on July 2, 1916 in Lancashire, England. He married Elsie on July 13, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Served honorably in the British Army in the invasion of Normandy. Ernest immigrated to the United States with his family in 1952. Ernest retired from the Salt Lake School District after 29 years. He served as a High Priest for the LDS Church.
Survived by wife Elsie "Nanny". Daughter Joyce (Fred), son Bryan (Laney), six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brother William and sister-in-law Beryl Hodson and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 12:00 noon at the Jordan 7th Ward, 3650 West 4400 South. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd. and one hour prior to the service at the Ward. Interment,
