5/10/36 ~ 1/15/03

Delores Ilene Norton, 66, passed away Jan. 15, 2003, in Salt Lake City, after a long struggle with Diabetes.

Born May 10, 1936, to John and Hazel Huffman, she was raised in Burlington, Iowa, where she met and married Melvin Lee Norton in 1951. In 1952, she opened the door to the Mormon missionaries, and soon after, with her husband, joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful member of the church and served in many callings, the most important of which was mother to her six children. In 1968 her family was sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. After 30 plus years of helping to pioneer and build the Burlington branch of the church, Melvin and Delores moved to Utah. After her children were raised Delores went back to school, obtained a degree, and spent many years employed with the Iowa and Utah Department of Social Services.

Delores will be terribly missed by her husband Melvin, Sandy; children, Mark, Boulder, CO; Michael, Costa Rica; Susan Allred, Baltimore, MD; Stephen, Santa Rosa, CA; Laura Young, Orem; Eric, Sandy; 30 grandchildren, and many friends and neighbors.
