Crescent City Beignets, a nationwide chain of beignet shops and New Orleans-themed restaurants, has signed an agreement to develop eight locations in the Salt Lake metro area.

A site for the area's first restaurant already has been selected, and it should be open for business in the spring. Crescent City Beignets will feature beignets (French-style pastries), sandwiches, salads, and a New Orleans-inspired menu including gumbo and red beans and rice.
