Leon passed away October 24, 2003, peacefully at home after a prolonged battle with chronic lung disease.
He was born in Stigler, OK, April 14, 1927, to John Emery and Easter Caroline Roper. He married Philanthria and later divorced. He married his sweetheart, Margie Wardle, August 30, 1947. Leon worked in sales and was self-employed most of his life. He served in World War II in the Armed Forces.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother Louie Lee Kirk; sisters, Verda Jo Walsh and Thelma Erma Roper; son, Robert Leon Roper. He is survived by his wife, Margie; daughter, Glenna Sue; brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services to be held Tues. Oct 28, 11 a.m. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12590 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah. Friends and family may visit a viewing at the funeral home Mon., Oct 27 from 6-8 p.m. or one hour prior to the services.
