Joel Jay Kiel passed away Oct. 4, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah, from complications following surgery.
He was born Dec. 19, 1935 to Verne H. and Doris Stretch Kiel in Austin, MN.
Married Karen Smith in 1956. Together, they raised five sons. Joel served faithfully as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 40 years. His great loves were his family, his faith, and golf.
Survived by wife Karen, sons Richard (Cindy), David (Liz), Brad (Pat), Paul (Judy), Andrew (Jenifer), grandchildren Richard, Ryan, Cheyenne, Jennifer, Jessica, Derrick, and great-grandson Evan, brothers Larry and Verne, and sister Sandra.
A memorial service will be held at the Kearns Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6148 So. 4590 W., on Sat. Oct. 11 at 3:00 p.m.
