Xiaolin Showdown (9 a.m., Ch. 30): This entertaining new animated series is based on the ancient mythical Xiaolin martial arts inspired by Chinese monks thousands of years ago. Our hero is Omi, a naive young monk, who leads a team of warriors-in-training — Kimiko, a hipster girl; Raimundo, a street-smart Brazilian; and Clay, a Texas Kung Fu cowboy.

NBA basketball (6:30 p.m., Ch. 14): Jazz at Mavericks

Phenomenon II (7 p.m., Ch. 4): This Disney telefilm is less a sequel to the 1996 John Travolta movie than it is a remake — albeit one with a happier ending.

Bringing Up Baby (7 p.m., Ch. 7): Classic 1938 screwball comedy. (Repeat)

The District (9 p.m., Ch. 2): A serial killer who has eluded capture since 1985 may be killing again.

L.A. Dragnet (9 p.m., Ch. 4): Friday is convinced two seemingly unrelated murders are related.

Trading Spaces (10 p.m., TLC): "Spaces" is an Americanization of the BBC series "Changing Rooms." Beginning tonight, we see the first of several "Spaces" featuring some of the Brits, including designers Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen and Anna Ryder Richardson and carpenter "Handy" Andy Kane.
