The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office is investigating a man who allegedly impregnated a teenage baby-sitter.

In 1999, a 14-year-old girl began baby-sitting a woman's children about the same time a man was released from prison and began living with the family. The girl baby-sat the children and worked for the man through 2000, documents filed in 3rd District Court state.

In March 2000, the girl became pregnant. She gave birth to a boy on Dec. 28, 2000. The boy was adopted by another family, court documents state.

The sheriff's office received permission from a judge last week to obtain a blood sample from the now 45-year-old man for paternity testing.

"It is believed that the defendant may physically resist efforts to obtain blood" because he previously was convicted of an unrelated sexual offense, court documents state.
