1927 ~ 2003

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Sister <! >

Elizabeth "Betty" Alice Gerrard Tye, 76, passed away from acute leukemia in the presence of her loving family November 20, 2003 at the Cottonwood Hospital. We are saddened by her passing but know she is free from years of pain and is now with those that have gone on before.

She was born in Murray, Utah, March 10, 1927 to Leonard Gerrard and Mildred Bird Gerrard. She married Lowell Warren Tye on September 16, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of seven very special children. She was a life long resident of Taylorsville.

As an active member of the LDS church she served in many leadership and teaching positions; MIA, primary (28 years) and Relief Society at both the stake and ward level. Betty was one of the first Golden Gleaners in the Taylorsville area. She was musically gifted and a member of a trio that sang all over the Salt Lake Valley at USO and Church functions. For many years she sang in ward and stake choruses and choirs.

Her hobbies included music, oil painting, flower gardening, camping, phot

o albums and above all her family. The best advise Warren gave to the children was: "You better do what your mother says".

Betty will be remembered for her unconditional love of all.
