Lisa M. Winward has been hired as a financial adviser at the Midvale office of American Express. Winward, a University of Utah and Brigham Young University graduate, previously was employed as an independent marketing consultant.
Dr. Mark E. Manley has joined the IHC Physician Group, opening his psychiatry practice at the IHC Southern Utah Behavioral Clinic in St. George. Manley is a graduate of the University of Arizona College of Medicine and was most recently staff psychiatrist at a medical facility at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
The Mikado Japanese restaurant has mad two staff changes. Brad Emery was named catering manager. Emery has 15 years of experience as a sushi chef. He joined Mikado in 1994. Toshio Sekikawa, a Japanese fusion cuisine specialist, has been hired as executive chef. Sekikawa began cooking in Tokyo, Japan, in 1972. He has since worked in upscale restaurants in New York, Florida, San Francisco and Hong Kong. He founded the Sushi School of San Francisco.
Cricket Communications Inc. has named Abi Sabala as indirect sales coordinator for Utah. Prior to joining Cricket, Sabala was a veterinary assistant. She is a U. graduate.
Dr. Paul Saskin has joined Sleepwell Laboratories Inc. as vice president of clinical operations for Sleepwell's new sleep diagnostic test center in South Jordan. Saskin is a graduate of Concordia University, the Ferkauf Graduate School and Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University in New York. He has served as conference chairman and president of the Nevada State Psychological Association and is currently chairman of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Utah Build, a marketing company for the Utah home building and remodeling industry, has hired Chad Harward as general manager of the company's new eMedia division. Harward is a graduate of Weber State University and has experience in print journalism, media buying and retail sales.
Richter7, a Salt Lake-based public relations and advertising agency, announced two staff additions. Ryan Fitzgerald was hired as interactive producer. He has three years of experience as associate project manager at another local advertising firm and has experience in Web production. Stephanie Mace was hired as associate media director. Mace has six years of media planning experience. She has managed global and national media campaigns and led the implementation of interactive media initiatives.
Ron Alvey and Kristin Graziano were named manager and assistant manager, respectively, for the Bountiful office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. Alvey has 10 years of real estate industry experience, most recently as the agency's assistant manager in Bountiful. Graziano has 13 years of experience in the industry. She most recently worked in the company's corporate relocation division.
Digop, a Utah-based eAgency and Web developer, named two staff additions. Jody Hatch was named office manager and administrative assistant. She previously worked as an administrative assistant at another firm. Desiree Robinson has joined Digop as a Web developer in the financial services division of the company's Internet services business unit. Robinson previously worked in Las Vegas as a production manager for a Web developer.
Kenneth W. Spitzer, professor of physiology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, has been named director of the school's Nora Eccles Harrison Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute. Spitzer has conducted research and taught medical and graduate students at the institute for 24 years. His research focuses on the ways heart cells generate electricity, and maintaining pH regulation in the heart.
Sportsman's Warehouse Inc. announced four new board members. Dale Smith has served as president of Sportsman's Warehouse since 1999. He was formerly the firm's Midvale store manager. Other board appointees were Robert D. Bolinder, Boise; Charles McAuley, Destin, Fla.; and Jonathan Scott, Nampa, Idaho.
Bradley Cahoon, a partner of the Salt Lake law firm of Snell & Wilmer, has been elected chairman of the board of State Law Resources, a national network of independent law firms. Cahoon's practice is concentrated in administrative law and litigation, environment, water, natural resources and utilities matters.
Associated Food Stores has hired Ritchie Casteel as regional manager. Casteel has nearly 33 years of retail food industry experience. He will provide management and strategic direction for the company, which includes Dan's, Dick's, Lin's and Macey's markets.
InvestNet Inc. has appointed Maurice Tsakok as secretary and director. Tsakok has been in the investment and technology business for more than 20 years. He holds an engineering degree and an MBA in management information systems.

The SCO Group Inc. has appointed Daniel W. Campbell to its board of directors and as a member of the company's audit committee. Campbell has served as managing general partner of EsNet Ltd., an investment group active in both technology and real estate ventures. He is a member of the National Advisory Council of the Marriott School of Business at BYU and is vice chairman of the Utah Valley State College board of trustees.
