Rock star Meat Loaf, 52, underwent heart surgery in London after being diagnosed with a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat, his record label said Tuesday.

He had a catheter ablation — a procedure in which tissue is removed to restore a normal heartbeat — on Friday at the Wellington Hospital in St. John's Wood, London, and left on Saturday, his U.K. record label Mercury said.

The star collapsed Nov. 17 as he performed at London's Wembley Arena and was taken to Northwick Park Hospital to recover from exhaustion due to a prolonged viral infection. Subsequent tests showed he had Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome.
