Auditions are scheduled for several upcoming regional stage productions.
HALE CENTRE THEATRE will hold auditions Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon, by appointment only for "The Scarlet Pimpernel," directed by Bruce Bredeson and choreographed by Marilyn May Montgomery. Play dates are Feb. 7-April 3. All roles are open. Needed are men,18-60 years of age, and women, 18-40. All must come prepared to sing 32 measures of a Broadway song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided (no taped music allowed).
Hale is using costumes from the national tour. All performers must be able to wear men's coat sizes 34-48 or women's dress sizes 4-12. Bring a photograph and resume. Callbacks by invitation only. HALE CENTER THEATER OREM will hold auditions Saturday for the stage version of the Doris Day-Rock Hudson movie comedy, "Pillow Talk," directed by Eric Jensen, scheduled to play Dec. 29-Feb. 7. Unlike most Hale productions, the theater is hoping to single-cast this show. Needed are women 25-60 years of age and men 25-50. There will be cold readings from the script. HERITAGE THEATER, Perry, is holding auditions Tuesday and Thursday for Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest," directed by Colette R. Henderson. There are roles for four men (two in their 20s or 30s, one 40-60 and another over 30) and five women (one in her 20s-30s, one 18-20, one in her 50s-60s, one 40s-50s and one 20-plus).
