1914 ~ 2003

Douglas Dustin Willey, born February 16, 1914, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 14, 2003.

He was the 10th child of Jeremiah and Bernina Willey of Bountiful Utah. They moved to Salt Lake when he was in high school, and he married Dorothy Burnett in the Salt Lake Temple on June 30, 1933. Last summer they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary surrounded by their family of four children, 13 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Doug began his career in the retail grocery business with Piggley Wiggley, and later managed a variety of Safeway stores for over 45 years. He finished his career with Safeway as a division auditor. After his retirement, he went to work for the Kimberly Clark Company for nine years.

The happy couple traveled extensively, visiting every state at least once, and many foreign countries. He was an avid golfer, and has a great story about two hole-in-one's to his credit. Besides golf, his hobby was his family, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He will be loved and missed. He was a man who had many, many friends, and was extremely personable.
