This is to remind the Deseret Morning News editorial writer of some of the reasons there is opposition to fluoridation.
1. The public water supply should not be used to medicate anyone for any reason.
2. Hydrofluorosilicic acid, the stuff being added to our water, is a hazardous waste byproduct of the fertilizer/chemical industry.
3. Not one single government agency has ever conducted research with respect to the long-term health effects of consuming water to which hydrofluorosilicic acid has been added.
4. There are cities and countries that have been fluoridated for years that are opting out of fluoridation because of the increase in cavities showing up in their populations.
5. Those of us who do not want to drink fluoridated water are being forced to spend hundreds of dollars a year to buy non-fluoridated water.
