1926~2003
Our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Marvin Davies Hogan, passed away February 12, 2003 in Salt Lake City.
Marvin was born March 23, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Lawrence McKinney Hogan and Eva Davies. He married Helen Merle Vinson on July 15, 1942, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Young Electric Sign Company. Marvin
enjoyed woodworking and photography. Marvin was a faithful member of the LDS Church. During his life, he served in many capacities, including ward clerk and counselor in the bishopric. He was a friend to many and a loving husband and father. He was true and honest in every aspect of his life and respected by everyone.
He is survived by his four children; Gayle (John) Wood, Larry (Elaine) Hogan, Maureen (Brent) Anderson, Hal (Pam VanCura) Hogan, 15 grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Pauline Mors and Kathleen Smith. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his parents, two brothers, and two grandchildren.
Friends and family may call Sunday evening, Feb. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City, Utah. A graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m., at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake.
