"Sweethearts Forever"

Howard Glad, age 65, peacefully passed away at home from cancer Feb 7, 2003.

Born to Janet May Thomson and Clyde Davison Anderson Glad in Mur-ray, UT. Howard graduated from Jor-dan High School, 1955. He served his country in the military as a communications and signals specialist in Korea and Texas. He married his high school sweetheart Velma Katie Cook April 10, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married 45 years and reared seven children. He was a loving, stable influence and an example to his posterity of how to live a good life.

He worked for IBM for 30 years as a customer field engineer. After retiring from IBM he worked as a contractor for the FAA. He attended many technical schools with a desire for continuous learning over his lifetime.

He spent 50 years in the Boy Scout program, influencing the lives of many young men. He was pleased that his sons earned their Eagle Scout awards. He taught his daughters many outdoor and life skills because of his love of nature. Howard was awarded the Silver Beaver for his scouting service.

Howard and Velma spent their last few years together traveling to Israel, Alaska, Hawaii, then serving a mission to Romania and Maine for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
