Randy Ivan Nielson, 52, loving husband, son, uncle, brother-in-law-and friend, died suddenly, March 11, 2003, at home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 3, 1951, in Price, Utah to Fletcher Dee and Maribeth Montague Nielson. He graduated from Kearns High School in 1969, and is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Kristine Vernon, May 3 1974. Randy enjoyed helping others. He spent many years in the construction business.
Many of his homes dot the Salt Lake Valley and Utah County.
He always had a positive attitude and was kind and thoughtful and loved his family, friends and animals.
He is survived by his wife, Kris: Mother, Maribeth Nielson Garber (Jim): mother-in-law, Betty E. Vernon; sisters-in-law, Lori and Robyn Vernon; nephew and niece, Sid and Kayla Vernon; step sisters, Cheryl Ann Underhill and Dana Lee Robinson; special uncle, Carlos Montague and family; cousin Roger Montague as well as many other relatives. Preceded in death by father, Fletcher Dee Nielson, and brother, Craig Dee Nielson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2003, at 12 noon at the Crescent Twenty-Seventh Ward, 116 East 11400 South, Draper, Utah. Friends may call Friday, March 14, 2003 at 6-8 p.m.
at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10550 So.), South Jordan, Utah, and Saturday at the church 10:45-11:45 am. Interment, Valley View Cemetery. Family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Heart Association.
