OREM — The Alpine Board of Education approved the appointment of five elementary school principals this week.
Starlene Holm will take over at Lehi Elementary. Holm has served as a literacy specialist and administrative assistant for the past four years.
Jim Melville will lead the new Highland area elementary school. Melville has served as the principal at Cedar Valley, Orchard and Westmore elementary schools.
Michelle Oxborrow will serve at Cascade Elementary. Oxborrow has been a fifth-grade teacher at Manila Elementary and was the Alpine district's literacy coordinator.
Brent Palmer will take the helm of Orchard Elementary in Orem. Palmer has been working in the Jordan School District, where he was an elementary teacher, Title I and migrant program specialist, director of transportation and as a principal.
Michael J. Parkes will serve as principal and teacher at Cedar Fort Elementary. He has taught at Greenwood, Bonneville and Westfield elementaries.
