The Utah Public Service Commission has decided to remove price caps on business services offered by Qwest in the Tooele area.

The commission ruled Jan. 28 that price caps be in place in areas where Qwest has only one competitor or in areas where only resale competition exists. As part of its ruling, it placed price caps on Qwest's business services in the Tooele area, but the commission said it erred because evidence shows three competitors offer business services there.

Qwest had asked for a review, rehearing or reconsideration of several issues in the case, but only the Tooele competition issue was taken up by the commission.
