NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) — A man described by prosecutors as a con artist with a taste for the good life was convicted of murder in the deaths of his two older children almost two months after he admitted killing his wife and youngest daughter.

The jury took less than five hours to reach a guilty verdict Monday against Christian Longo, 29, in the deaths of 4-year-old Zachery and Sadie, 3.

Longo pleaded guilty in February to killing his wife, 34-year-old MaryJane, and his 2-year-old daughter, Madison. At trial, he claimed he did so in a fit of rage after returning from work to find that his wife had killed the two other children. The bodies were discovered around Christmas 2001 in shallow inlets on the Oregon coast.
