PROVO — MyFamily.com Inc. said Tuesday it has acquired Genealogy.com from A&E Television Networks.
Terms were not disclosed. As part of the agreement, MyFamily will get promotion of AETN television properties.
Provo-based MyFamily.com Inc. is an online subscription business operating Ancestry.com, MyFamily.com and RootsWeb.com.
Genealogy.com produces family tree software Family Tree Maker and provides online genealogy resources. It will continue to offer its products and services.
AETN, a joint venture of The Hearst Corp., ABC Inc. and NBC, offers television programming, magazine publishing, Web sites, books, music CDs and home videos/DVDs, and also supports nationwide educational initiatives. It comprises A&E Network, The History Channel, The Biography Channel, History International, AETN International, AETN Consumer Products and Biography Magazine.
