The First Presidency has announced the dedication date and new president of the Brisbane Australia Temple.

The temple will be dedicated in four sessions June 15, 2003, and open for ordinances on Monday, June 16, 2003.

John Douglas Jeffrey, 67, Tallai Ward, Gold Coast Australia Stake, has been called as president of the new Brisbane Australia Temple. President Jeffrey's wife, Lois Gay Tucker Jeffrey, will serve as temple matron.

President Jeffrey, executive secretary to the Australia/New Zealand Area presidency, served as regional representative, mission president, stake president and bishop. He is a retired CES coordinator. He was born in Townsville, Australia, to Douglas Dalrymple and Grace Amelia Emma Rutherford Jeffrey.

Sister Jeffrey, a retired home economist, is a former stake Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, and served with her husband when he was a misison president. She was born in Sydney, Australia, to Neville Graham and Joan Glenmore Hunt Tucker.
