"Sarge"
Keith Maxwell Sargent, age 76, passed away June 14, 2003 after a long illness in West Valley City, Utah.
He was born Oct 22, 1926 in SLC, UT to Zelma Grace Maxwell and Carlyle Sargent. He lived in Hoytsville until he was 12. He attended West High School and the U of U. He served two years in the U.S. Maritime Service during World War II. He married Gwen Stewart Sept 9, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Aug 1985. He married Maurene Carlson Nov 28, 1987 in the Provo LDS Temple.
Keith worked for Garrett Freight Lines 41 years, most of that time as sales manager. He was active in the LDS Church and served in Young Mens, as a Boy Scout leader, as High Priest Group Leader, and as a councilor in the bishopric.
He is survived by his wife, Maurene; three sons, Fred, Dale (Dixie), Scott (Tanya); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, La-Rue Selby. He has an extended step family of three stepsons, Ron, Brad, Brent Carlson; stepdaughter, Shauna Baldonado; 14 step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gwen; and brother, Carl.
Services will be 11a.m. Wed. June 18, 2003 Jordan Parkway LDS Ward chapel, 3935 S. 1500 W, West Valley City. Friends and family may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S, and 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
