1940 ~ 2003

OGDEN<! >

- Pearl Jean Lance, age 63, went home June 27, 2003 after a valiant fight with cancer.

Mom was born in Urbana Township, IL March 31, 1940 a daughter of Everett and Glenda Jean Goins. She married Joseph Alby Lance May 13, 1957 and was later sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple May 11, 1963. She was blessed with 11 children, 56 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She nobly reared her family as an Air Force wife in many parts of the world. She made many cherished friends among her travels. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions such as Primary president, teacher, nursery leader, Sunday School secretary and visiting teacher. She loved genealogy work and actively pursuing her own family lineage and was currently working as a missionary at the Family History Center, Ogden. It was a priority in her life to go to the temple and serve the Lord.

She loved reading, creating ceramics, music, traveling, roller skating and bowling, for which she won numerous trophies. She enjoyed sending e-mails and cards to loved ones and friends, expanding her mind with word search puzzles, and taking care of children. She graduated from LPN School in 1985 and has worked as an LPN for various companies. She was a loving caregiver for several elderly women in their homes.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Blair) Sanders, Lake Point, UT, Debbie (Scott) Silver, St. Augustine, FL, Jeannette (Scott) Oberg, Taylor, UT, Joyce (Ron) Pardoe, Kaysville, UT, Teresa (Jim) Warner, Jefferson City, MO, Joseph (Lisa) Lance, Jr., Mona, UT, David Lance, Draper, UT, Tina (Wade) Peacock, Orangeville, UT, Tracy (Melinda) Lance, Clinton, UT, Michele (Eric) Kammerman, Aragon, GA, Heather Parker, Enid, OK; brothers, Everett (Buster) Goins, Atlanta, GA, Raymond (Butch) Goins, Lebanon, OH, Ronald Minniear, Macon, GA, Steve Minniear, Urbana, IL; best friend, Betty Jones; and friends, Ken, Sally Ryan who introduced her to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 45 years ago. We will always be grateful to them. Her parents; sister, Alberta (Birdie) Levitt; and two younger brothers preceded her in death.
