1914 ~ 2003

Lena Mangum Brunson brought sunshine to her husband of 67 years, three children, 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, smiling through almost constant pain. All who knew her appreciated her wry wit, clever humor, and constant kindness, especially noted by those who cared for her. Thank you, Trudy.

Born in Huntington, UT July 19, 1914, our feisty little redhead married her "tall, dark and handsome" sweetheart June 4, 1936 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. More than five decades they were part of the Salt Lake community. Lena loved people, especially children, many of whom called her grandma, and was fond of music, good books and roses. She served her church and the community in many ways. However, her favorite calling, to which she was dedicated for 25 years, was Primary chorister. For nine years she was the best "bookkeeper and secretary" her CPA sweetheart ever had. From 1978-1982 she was "mission mother" to nearly 600 LDS missionaries in the Fresno California Mission. The last 20 years were shared between family and friends in St. George, Salt Lake, Kaysville, and Providence, UT.

Her body finally wore out June 5, 2003. She will be missed greatly by her husband, Ellsworth; children, Monti (Greg) Jones, Marilee Brunson, Mark (Pam) Brunson; sisters, LaVeta Harvey, Leila (Clive) Bradford; and in-laws, Ruth Mangum, Brandon Brunson, Mari-lyn Brunson, Marjorie Robison, Helen Smedley; as well as her grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
