I have recently been reading modern history books that denigrate religions (namely, Christians) for messing up our world. Despite the mistakes of some religionists, it appears to me to be quite the opposite.

Christians are charged with impeding the advancement of mankind because of their strict beliefs. I thought that was the dogmatic environmentalists? Remember that those advanced thinkers Copernicus and Galileo were devout Christians.

Some claim Christians try to censor information. Why is it considered "wrong" to suppress liberal expressions of pornography and homosexuality, and yet it is considered "good" to limit the speech of an opposing view revealing the danger of perversions?

Christians are also accused of discrimination and of intolerance when in reality atheism, teamed up with government, have been intolerant of Christians and other monotheists.

Clearly, Christians have brought our civilization this far. It seems to me that our gratitude would be better placed if we praised them rather than condemned them.
