Wyeth Consumer Healthcare, a division of Wyeth, says there's no longer a shortage of its asthma inhaler product, Primatene Mist, on store shelves. The just-ended shortage was caused by difficulties in procuring key components for the inhaler, coupled by a product recall by another company that has no relation to Wyeth or Primatene Mist.

The company says the safety and efficacy of its product was never in question, though some consumers were confused by the recall of the other product.

Primatene Mist is an asthma reliever available without a prescription and is the No. 1 over-the-counter medicine sold for the relief of physician-diagnosed, mild intermittent bronchial asthma.
