Our loving mother and grandmother Roberta Cook Adamson, 91, of Lehi, died July 6, 2003 in Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, due to complications from a fall.
Roberta was born April 22, 1912, in Cedar Fort, Utah. She was the sixth of ten children born to Edward and Nellie Chamberlain Cook. Roberta was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She attended school in Cedar Fort and Lehi, Utah. After graduating from Lehi High School, she moved to Salt Lake City where she worked for Z.C.M.I. and the Doctor Elliot Snow Family.
Roberta married her sweetheart, Lee Adamson, on Sep. 23, 1939 in Salt Lake City. Three children blessed their union. They were later sealed in the Mount Tmpanogos Temple. She worked at Humphrey's Floral in American Fork, General Refactories in Lehi, and the State of Utah, Department of Business Regulations. She was a Pink Lady Volunteer at the Amercian Fork Hospital where she spent countless hours serving and working with her friends the Pink Ladies, the patients and the patrons.
Roberta will be remembered for her love of children, her friendship, her caring, her cooking, her green thumb, and her love for the Democratic Party. Roberta lived her long and happy life well and on her own terms.
Surviving Roberta are her three children: Joseph (Penny) Adamson, Carla (Richard) Shelton, both of Lehi and Robert-Toby (Ann) Adamson of Highland, a brother Francis (Donna) Cook, Cedar Fort; sisters-in-law Virginia of Cedar Fort and Denise Cook of Highland, 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2003 in the Lehi 7th Ward, 1149 N 300 W, Lehi, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing well be held on Wednesday, July 9, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E Main, Lehi, and Thursday, one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Cedar Fort Cemetery.
