EPHRAIM - <! > Our dear father, grandfather, brother, and friend has moved on to the loving arms waiting for him in the eternal world. Joseph Dee Jorgenson, 81, passed on Aug. 19, 2003.
Joe was born June 23, 1922 in Ephraim, Utah to Gilbert and Lillian Peterson Jorgenson, the fourth of seven children. He married Roberta Willden on Feb. 20, 1946, solemnized in the Manti Temple Dec. 7, 1962. She passed away April 14, 2002.
He served his country in World War II in the Navy as a C.B. stationed in Samoa. In his younger years he worked as a sheep herder and farmer; then for the Town of Ephraim and retired from the Utah DOT in 1987.
Joe enjoyed the mountains. He loved people and enjoyed visiting, always have a story or joke to tell all who would listen. He liked spending time with his family and was always proud of them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was an active member of the LDS Church.
Survived by children: Dee (Kathy) Jorgenson, Jackson Hole, WY; Kim Wade, Portland, OR; Ramona (Craig) Sorenson, Escalante, UT; Lorna, Kearns, UT; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eva and Grace (Verlyn); brothers, Clifford (Margaret); Max (Geneal); Ted (Betty); sister-in-law Genevieve and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by wife, parents, daughter (Hope), baby son, and brother James.
Funeral will be held Fri. Aug. 22, at 12 noon at the Ephraim LDS Stake Center, 400 East Center Street. A viewing will be Thurs. night from 6 - 8 p.m. and Fri. from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to Services. Burial: Ephraim City Cemetery with Military services by the American Legion Post 31.
