Dance Partners Again

Warren "The Barber" was called home, July 31, 2003, as he answered his Father in Heaven's divine call for "Next Please."

Born October 27, 1920, to Andrew H. and Mildred Twitchell Schow, the ninth of 15 children. Warren was an Escalante, Utah boy, lean and full of mischief working long hours on the family farm and ranch and later learned his avocation building stonewalls with the CCCs in Zion Park. He joined the Navy in 1942. It was here during off-duty time that he honed the skills that would become his lifetime occupation, barbering and the gift of gab. Assigned to the minesweeper USS Champion, he was engaged in many of the Pacific campaigns of World War II. He was even listed, for a while, as having been killed in an attack on his ship, but thanks to a habit of wearing his helmet to the side of his head as he did with all his hats, he was saved from a direct hit.

He married Maxine Lyle Stanley on Sept 7, 1943 in Oakland CA. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church faithfully serving in many positions. He loved to travel, and his garden but mostly he loved his family. He cared for those he met and went out of his way to help anyone in need.
