1919 ~ 2003
Annelle Barrett Moore Larson, 84, passed away August 4, 2003.
Born May 4, 1919 in New Albany, Indiana to Dr. Clifford H. and Margaret Barrett Moore. Annelle met her husband, George W. Larson, a classmate, at Ripon College, Wisconsin. An avid reader from the age of four, coupled with maintaining an 'A' average, Annelle was awarded a full four year scholarship to the University of Chicago for her postgraduate studies. Annelle and George were married in Chicago on November 1, 1941.
Married for 61 years, Annelle and George had two sons.
She raised her firstborn for almost three years until George returned from overseas. Annelle was active in volunteer work, serving as a docent for 15 years at the Utah Museum of Natural History as well as in service work for her Church.
The family would like to thank all the personnel at St. Mark's Hospital responsible for the kind attentive care she received during her final days.
Annelle is survived by her husband, her sons and daughters-in-law; George William Jr. and Janean, Robert and Suzanne, and her grandchildren; Tawni and Cade.
Annelle spent many years studying the natural history of the western United States-particularly the Great Basin. Mount Olympus was a continuing source of inspiration to her, especially when silhouetted by a sky of Utah blue. We will all be reminded of her grace and beauty when we have occasion to gaze at the mountain.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug 8, 2003, 12 Noon, at the Mt. Olympus Presbyterian Church, 3280 E. 3900 So. Lunch will be served following the service. Annelle would like a donation to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. Private family disposition of cremated remains.
