"Jack"

Jack Schipaanboord, age 87, of Salt Lake City, Utah, died January 8, 2004 of natural causes.

He was born March 12, 1916 in Leiden, The Netherlands, to Jacob and Cornelia Flink Schipaanboord. He immigrated to Utah in 1940 and married Jane Hart on January 18, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. Jane died July 5, 1992. He married Feikina DeJuncker on September 11, 1993.

Jack was a High Priest in the LDS Church and served faithfully in many positions, including bishop of the Liberty Park Ward and a counselor in the Liberty Stake Presidency.

Jack is survived by his wife, Feikina; children, Wayne (Tara) Schipaanboord, Donna (Darol) Denison, and Dale (Jan) Schipaanboord; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Feikina's children, Thea Cheney, Velma Johansen, Ron (Debbie) DeJuncker and Yvonne Ochoa; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and by nephews Ernest, Donald, and Walter Mebius Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Wilhelmina Mebius.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Liberty Park Ward, 445 East Harvard Avenue (1100 South). A viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Sunday evening, January 11th, from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the ward on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
