James A. "Jim" Kinzel, 53, of St. Petersburg, FL., died Monday, January 19, 2004 at home.
Born in Detroit, MI, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1973 from Lakeland, FL. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1972 and was a member of ATO Fraternity. He was President of the Kinzel Company in St. Petersburg and then worked for HRH Insurance in Tampa, FL where he was Vice President of Employee Benefits. He was currently employed as National Sales Director for MGIS in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was on the Board of Directors and President of the St. Pete Beach Chamber of Commerce; Board Member and Chairman of the Better Business Bureau of Tampa Bay; Board Member of the Palms of Pasadena Hospital; appointed by the Governor to the State of Florida Hospital Cost Containment Board; Board Member and President of the Ronald McDonald House; and Board Member of All Children's Hospital. He was a member of Suncoaster's, the Center Club, and Lakewood Country Club and Board Member.
Survivors include a son, Adam Kinzel, St. Petersburg; two daughters: Amy Kinzel, Atlanta, GA; and Ashley Kinzel, St. Petersburg; his parents, B.H. "Red" and Shurley Kinzel, of St. Petersburg; and a brother, Mike Kinzel, Marietta, GA.
