Obituary: Thelma Stoddard Hatton

"Our Loving Mother"

Our beloved mother and grandmother returned to her Heavenly Father on October 18, 2004, in Salt Lake City, after a long battle with heart disease.

Thelma was born on June 10, 1917, in Georgetown, Idaho, to Delbert Stoddard and Harriet Bee. She married Wells Hatton on July 15, 1949, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died in 1971.

Thelma spent many years working in retail stores. She retired as the "candy lady" from J.C. Penney Company in 1972. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She was especially devoted to her children and grandchildren: Janeal (Gaylen) Atkinson, West Valley City; Paul (Debbie) Hatton, Taylorsville; Celia (Dave) Snider, Springboro, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Ruth Echols.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2004, at 12:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the "angels" at the Residence of Caresource for their loving and tender care.
