Erwin Barr Osguthorpe, age 75 passed away December 18, 2004.

He was born January 7, 1929 in East Millcreek to Edgar Osguthorpe and Ada Hazel Capson. He attended Granite High School and served in the United States Navy. On November 30, 1950 he married Darlene Higley in Salt Lake City and resided in Emigration Canyon more than 47 years. E.B.'s favorite pastimes were singing, horseback riding, hunting, bowling, playing pool, mechanics, and ranching. There was nothing he couldn't fix. His imagination to invent practical items to make life easier was always an amazement.

He was actively involved and loved his children, grandchildren, nieces, ne-phews, and family. He served as a Special County Sheriff for many years. During his 35 year career at the Dept. of Transportation he excelled in management and served on many panels and avalanche control. E.B. was always willing to help a stranded motorist.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene J.; daughters, Christy Grundfossen (Dan), Gayelee DuFord; sons, Alan (Vicki), Rick (Meg); sisters, Bernice Sierkowsky, Renee Christensen (William); brother, John Osguthorpe; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ada, Martha, Marvin, Vernon, Garn, and Melvin.

Funeral services will be held Wed. December 22, 2004 at the Monument Park Ward, 2795 East Crestview Dr. (approx. 900 So). Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 So. Highland Dr. and one hour prior to services at the ward. Interment will follow at the Elysian Burial Gardens.
