1936 ~ 2004

Cleo Ellen Whipple Allred, 67, passed away February 4, 2004 at her home in Murray after a valiant battle with brain cancer.

Born December 12, 1936 in Salt Lake City, UT to John Newton and Verna Ellen Nichols Whipple. Married Avery Lind Allred on February 14, 1957, marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 3, 1970.

Loving wife, mom, grandma and friend. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many positions, including Relief Society president, a position she cherished. She loved the sisters "with all of her heart". She enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with her family. Cleo loved teaching pre-school for 16 years, her encouraging smile and radiant personality gave children a positive love for learning.

Survived by her husband, children, Lorie (Russ) Bergstrom, Jeff (Tammy) Allred, Karie (Randall) Smith; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Rachel), Sean,

Jason, Marc, Kellie, Jaimie, Stacee, Nikkie, Ryan, Bret and Jordan; great-grandson, Ryan; brother, John Whipple (Linda). Preceded in death by a son, Scott.

Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 a.m. at the Little Cottonwood 12th Ward, 6165 South 855 East. Friends may call Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St. and Monday at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
