1934 ~ 2004

Our beloved wife, mother, and sister, Karma Jo Boardman Hadley, 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 in Provo, Utah after a 6 year battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born February 25, 1934 to Darwin John and Elma Jacobsen Boardman. She was raised in Provo and attended BY Academy and graduated from Provo High. She went on to attend BYU where she met and fell in love with Donald Blaine Hadley. They were married on September 17, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked as a secretary for the Quartermaster in Lawton, Oklahoma before working as secretary for the Provo City Administrator. She would later retire and work as a full-time mom to her three children.

She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. She served faithfully in many callings in the primary and as a ward president and stake counselor of that organization. She served many years with the Cub Scouts. She also served in a ward relief society presidency. Her last calling was for several years as compassionate service leader. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Karma was an extremely talented woman. Her artistic skills began while in her early years. She won awards for her design and decorating skills. She was very artistic. She was good at every medium she tried. She learned how to quilt and shared those talents with her family and others. She was a great seamstress. She was an incredible cook. She was good at decorating and especially at floral arranging. She was a superb scrapbooker. She was an excellent example of how to serve others.

She was especially good to her parents. She enjoyed her associations with her friends and neighbors. She put her family first.

Karma is survived by her loving husband, Blaine; her three children: Jackie and Michael Snelson, Don Hadley, and Bob and Tracie Hadley; one brother, John Elmer and Pat Boardman; and 11 grandchildren: Eric, Brad, Erin, Jamie, Kelli and Katie Snelson and Chelsie, Austin, Jason, Jacob, and Jessica Hadley. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darwin Jr. and Kent Boardman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the Hobble Creek 7th ward, 1965 East Canyon Road, Springville. Friends may call at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 E. 200 S. in Springville on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hobble Creek 7th ward building.

The family wishes to express their extreme gratitude to the staff in the Enhanced Care Unit at Courtyard at Jamestown for all their help and kindness during the past three years.
