"Together Again"

WEST BOUNTIFUL <! > A. Ardell Byington, age 88, died Thursday, 11 March 2004 at Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield.

He was born 9 August, 1915 in Soda Springs, Idaho to James Henry and Sarah Mirah (Carr) Byington. He married B. Fay Kofoed 31 October, 1935 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death in October 2002.

He was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in a number of callings including the bishopric of the Homedale (Idaho) Ward. He was a farmer in the Homedale/Marsing area of Idaho for many years. After he left farming, he worked for several years as the manager of the grain elevator at Welfare Square in Salt Lake City for the LDS Church. He was proud of the fact that he built his own home in West Bountiful, with the help of his family members. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was a kind, wise, and patient counselor to them. He also liked to tease his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his four children Sherlene (Jimmy) Parker of Bountiful, Vicki (Richard) Everett of Bountiful, Roger (Janice) Byington of Clearfield, and Kim (Kari) Byington of Hooper, 31 grandchildren, 49 great-grand-children, and one great-great-grand-child. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, two sisters, four grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Tues., March 16, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the West Bountiful 7th Ward Chapel, 311 N. 800 W., West Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 North Main, Bountiful, Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the West Bountiful 7th Ward before services. Graveside services will be in the Lava Hot Springs, Idaho Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.
