1924 ~ 2004

Winter went and with it took the warmest heart on earth.

Gerald Arthur Eden, 79, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, affectionately called "Chief", passed from this life surrounded by family on March 19, 2004, in Bountiful, Utah.

He was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Henry Arthur and Charlotte Dorothy Pauly Eden. He married Vivian Hussey on April 25, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death in 1972. He married Coyla Larson on Feb. 2, 1980. They were together for 22 years.

Gerald graduated from South High School in 1941 at age 16. He learned electric arc welding at the National Youth Administration Trade School and worked at the shipyards in Seattle, WA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe.

He earned a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from the University of Utah in 1954 and was a pharmacist at Skaggs Alpha Beta where he made many friendships with customers.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an honorable mission to the Northwest States. He had many church callings including temple worker. He was an avid genealogist.

He loved gardening, fishing, swimming and ice cream. He also liked a good joke or 'one liner'. He was a legendary arm chair quarterback. Gerald was a devoted family man who like to spend time with his

children.

He is survived by his children: Richard, Timothy (Kris), Scott (Cecile), Stephen (Shauna), Mathew (Heather) and Lance (Gretchen); 20 grandchildren; five step-children and 12 step-grandchildren; and sisters, Beth Hardy and Sharon Lyle. Waiting to greet him are his wife, parents, step-mother Letha, son Paul and daughter Julie, and his sister Shirley.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard Stake Center on 3599 S. Orchard Dr., Bountiful, Utah. Friends may call Thurs., March 25, 2004 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main from 6-8 p.m. and Fri. morning from 10-10:45 a.m. at the stake center prior to services.
