Whitt, Karen (nee Vincent), 60, an Aurora, IL resident for five years, formerly of Kaysville, UT, Danville, CA and Yorba Linda, CA, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL.
She was born December 28, 1943 in Salt Lake City, UT.
She is survived by her husband, Walt Whitt of Aurora, IL, whom she married July 27, 1985; three children Dr. Bret (Julia) Baldwin of Murphy, TX; Nicole (Jason) Ferland of Farmington, UT and Ryan Baldwin of Clearfield, UT; seven grandchildren, Anna, James and Hailey Baldwin; Braden and Cassidy Ferland; Joshua and Emily Baldwin, her father, William Smith of Layton, UT; her mother, Dorothy (nee Ford) Stanton of Kaysville, UT; five brothers, Gordon (Inola) Smith of Farmington, UT; Clair (Linda) Vincent of Pleasant Grove, UT; Donald (Cindy) Vincent of Taylorsville, UT; Larry (Amy) Vincent of Michigan and Byron (Laura) Vincent of Kaysville, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Troy Baldwin.
Karen grew up in Kaysville and was a graduate of Davis High School, Class of 1962. She was employed throughout the years by ZCMI, Salt Lake City, UT and Nordstrom Department Store, Walnut Creed and Brea, CA and Oak Brook, IL. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Karen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always positive and optimistic. She was able to see the good in every situation and everyone.
Karen loved people. She touched the hearts and souls of so many with her beauty and smile, her willingness to listen, and her care and concern for those around her. We pray that He will take care of her until we see her again.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville Cemetery.
Visitation was held Thursday, March 25, 2004 in Naperville, IL.
