"Beam Me Up Scottie"

Brett Darrell Josie, beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 39 of heart failure due to complications from Hodgkinsons disease, which he was diagnosed with at the age of 16.

Born on Mother's Day, May 10, 1964 in Salt Lake City to Darrell H. and Emma Jean Maxwell Josie. Married Moya P. Parry on November 17, 1988 in the Jordan River Temple.

Graduated from Murray High in 1982, where he was a cheerleader and was on the varsity wrestling team. He was an Eagle Scout and served an LDS mission to Nashville, TN. He was an active member of the church serving as Cub Master, Webelos Leader, Teacher in Sunday school and Elders Quorum.

Brett worked for Radius Engineering Inc. for 15 years and considered his fellow workers as his family.

Survived by: wife, children; Nathan, Chris and Taylor; mother, sisters and brothers; Jeanne (Bruce) Bryant, Sherrill (Ronald) Whiting, Kim (Ernest) Hathaway, Tena (Fred) Parsell, Michael (Cheryl) Josie; and his extended family, the Devenports. Preceded in death by his father and sister, Barbara.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 16, 2004 at 12 p.m. at the Little Cottonwood Stake Center (6165 S. 825 E). A viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, Murray, UT, and also from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
