Darrel Ellsworth Duncan, age 78, passed away April 12, 2004 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born July 27, 1925 in Windom, Minnesota to Alvah and Ruby Duncan. He graduated from Jeffers Minn. High School in Jeffers, Minnesota.

After high school Darrel served in the United States Navy as a rear seat gunner during World War II. When he left the Navy, he moved to Manti to join his oldest brother, Billy. There he met and married the love of his life, Wanda Wintch. Together they raised three children and helped raise 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Darrel loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and was an avid rockhound. He was a skilled craftsman and artisan. He particularly enjoyed creating works of art from the stones he gathered. Darrel was very curious and enjoyed learning, especially about his faith. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years he served faithfully in many positions. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Survived by his wife, Wanda, daughters Linda Rawley, Karen Mahaffey, son Tony Duncan; brothers Dale Duncan, Russell Duncan and Allen Duncan; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Alvah and Ruby Duncan, brothers Billy Duncan, Boyd Duncan and Bryon Duncan.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Garden Heights Ward building, 2220 Fisher Lane. Friends may call Friday evening, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive and from 9:45-10:45 Saturday morning at the church. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
