SPANISH FORK — The Utah Highway Patrol has identified those killed and injured in Monday's head-on collision in Spanish Fork Canyon.
Killed were:
Rebecca Ann Copier, 26, of Spanish Fork.
Tajan Duane Copier, 3 weeks, Spanish Fork.
The mother and her infant son died when a westbound pickup traveling in the inside lane crossed over the median into eastbound traffic and struck their eastbound car, driven by Casey D. Copier, 23, also of Spanish Fork. The Highway Patrol said he was airlifted to University Hospital in Salt Lake City. However, a spokeswoman at the hospital said the victim was never received.
A passenger in the Copier vehicle, 6-year-old Ethan James Postak of Spanish Fork, was transported by air to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. No condition update was available.
The pickup's driver, Luteru Fulava, 20, of West Valley, was taken in serious condition by ambulance to Mt. View Hospital in Payson, then transported to University Hospital, a Mt. View spokeswoman said. However, the University Hospital spokeswoman said that he, too, was not received there.
Spencer Schwalger, 30, Tooele, a passenger in the pickup, was transported to University Hospital in Salt Lake City, where's he's listed in fair condition.
No charges have been filed, pending completion of the investigation, police said.
