Brenda Badger Gilchrist, 55, died July 12, 2004 of Breast Cancer.
Born August 20, 1948 in San Francisco to Sidney V and Frances R Badger, she was raised in Menlo Park and Atherton, California. She attended Las Lomitas Elementary School, La Entrada Jr. High School, and graduated from Woodside High School in 1966. She grew up in the Menlo Park LDS Church. Attended Brigham Young University graduating in 1970. She earned her RN degree from Mesa Community College and worked as a surgical nurse for 25 years in Mesa, AZ. Brenda was respected for her skills and demeanor in the operating room. Brenda was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and volunteered her nursing services to several humanitarian medical organizations. In such work she traveled to both Brazil and Southeast Asia. She will be remembered for her service to others. Brenda married Michael Gilchrist in 1969 in the LDS Oakland Temple. They have four children.
She is survived by her husband Michael, and her children Kelly (Wood), Corey, Katie, and Kevin. She has four grandchildren. Her mother, Frances Rogers Badger, died in 1997, and she is survived by her father Sidney Badger, her brothers Dr Rodney S Badger and Dr James T Badger.
Funeral services will be held 100 p.m. Friday July 16, 2004 at the LDS Chapel on 4640 E. Holmes Ave, Mesa, AZ. Interment at City of Mesa Cemetery, Mesa, AZ.
