BOUNTIFUL — It's that time of year again for Bountiful Handcart Days.
With the exception of the arts and crafts exhibit, which started June 2 and runs through July 24, the events are on July 23 and 24.
The parade begins at 6 p.m., July 23, at the site of the former Five Points Mall, 1500 S. Main, and goes north on Main to 400 North and ends at Bountiful City Park. This year's parade has more than 100 entries, including marching bands, horses and clowns.
The city's fireworks show will begin at 9:45 p.m. July 23 at Mueller Park Junior High, 1000 East and 1800 South.
On July 23 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on July 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., activities at Bountiful Park include carnival rides and games, a variety of foods and pioneer games including, two-man saw, Jacob's ladder, climbing rings and ring toss.
A talent showcase in the park is part of 14 hours of live entertainment from local singers and dancers on July 23 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., except during the parade, and on July 24, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A chuckwagon breakfast sponsored by the Bountiful Exchange Club and Dick's Market will be in the Bountiful Park bowery next to the pool from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., July 24. Cost is $4 per person or $15 per family.
Free swimming is offered at the city pool, in the north end of the park, on July 24 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Family swim races are on the program from 10 a.m. to noon, and a free figure skating exhibition will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the ice rink.
