CLINTON — Police have cleared a man who a 13-year-old girl had claimed followed her home from a convenience store.
The incident had been widely reported and the man contacted police late Wednesday, police detective Dean Livingston said.
The man told police he had just walked to a friend's house to get a ride to work, which police verified.

"It was just a case of a 13-year-old girl who got scared," Livingston said.
