Everyone knows that "Kill Bill" director Quentin Tarantino is a fan of martial arts movies.

Now he's adopted one.

"People know that if I like a martial arts movie then it's gotta be good, and I think 'Hero' is an absolute masterpiece," Tarantino said of Zhang Yimou's first martial arts effort at the film's Hollywood premiere Tuesday night. "Miramax agreed to bring out a subtitled version if it included 'Quentin Tarantino Presents' in the title. I'm proud to be a part of this amazing work."

The gesture certainly thrilled Chinese superstar Jet Li, star of "Hero."

"Having Tarantino promote a Chinese martial arts movie in the American market makes him the real hero," said Li, who plays a character called Nameless in ancient China.
