SPANISH FORK — The Nebo School District has selected official names for several new schools soon to be built, as well as some schools that will be converted to other uses in the near future.
Construction on three new elementary schools will begin in March.
Their names and locations:
East Meadows Elementary — Spanish Fork
Foothills Elementary — Salem
Orchard Hill Elementary — Santaquin
In addition, Springville Middle School will become Cherry Creek Elementary when it converts to an elementary school in 2007. Spanish Fork Middle School and Payson Middle School will also change names when they convert to junior high schools that same year. They will respectively be named Diamond Fork Junior and Mount Nebo Junior High.
A new junior high in Mapleton, which will also begin construction in March, will be named Mapleton Junior High. And two new high schools expected to be completed by 2009 will be named Maple Mountain High School (Mapleton) and Salem Hills High School.
