Beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, James Joseph David Monsoor, Sr. passed away in Las Vegas, NV on September 23, 2004, of natural causes.

Born June 3, 1928, La Crosse, WI to Mike and Turkie Monsoor. Formerly married to Margaret L. Monsoor.

Jimmy raised his family in Palm Springs, California. He was a butcher in the wholesale and retail meat business to the public. He managed Desert Provisions and later opened his own meat packing plant, JM Meats. Jimmy devoted all of his life to serving others and family.

Survived by children, David Jay, Los Angeles, CA; Leigh Anthony (Deborah), Salt Lake City, UT; Keith Allan, Grass Valley, CA; Christine (Michael) Bangerter, Salt Lake City, UT; James J. Jr. (Patricia), Redwood City, CA; grandchildren, Toni Lin Predmore; Jeremy Paul, Brandon, Heather; James III and Elizabeth Monsoor; Thomas and Jennifer Thornburgh; Jason (Dayna) Bangerter; Joanie (Ernesto) Rendon; JaCoy (Tyson) Holbrook; Jon (Jocelyn) Bangerter; Jamie (Clint) Carter; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Monsoor, Seal Beach, CA; Raymond Monsoor, Austin, MN; two sisters, Elizabeth Berry, Palm Springs, CA; Margaret Danrich, Temple City, CA. Preceded in death by son, Samuel John Monsoor.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Sat., October 2, 2004, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 E. Creek Road (7910 S.) The Vigil will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) at 7:30 p.m. with a viewing prior from 6-7:30 p.m.
