1913 ~ 2004
RICHFIELD/HURRICANE, UTAH <! > - Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Reva Hunt Nelson, age 91, passed away November 24, 2004 in Truckee, California, following a very brief illness.
She was born May 3, 1913 in Cortez, Colorado, a daughter of Joseph Anthony and Charlotte Elizabeth Tanner Hunt. She lived briefly in Colorado and Escalante, Utah, later moving to Sevier, Utah. There she met and married Asahel Neil Nelson, July 5, 1930 in Richfield, Utah. They resided in Richfield, where Asahel was employed by Utah Poultry and Farmers Cooperative and Intermountain Farmers Assoc. for 42 years. Asahel preceded her in death March 18, 1986.
Reva moved from Richfield about 10 years ago. She has spent the past eight years living at Lava Bluff in Hurricane, Utah, where she had many dear friends; she spent every summer at her favorite place in the whole world, her summer home at Fish Lake.
Reva was active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and played a key role in establishing the Senior Center in Richfield. She loved working outdoors and always had a beautiful flower and vegetable garden. She loved entertaining friends and family. Her reputation for her fine cuisine was well known. Among her favorite interests were traveling and playing cards with friends and family. She was a member of the LDS Church.
Reva played a key role in maintaining contact with all of her extended family. Her generosity to family and friends was heartfelt.
She is survived by a large and loving family, her three sons: Ted and Mary of Potomac, Maryland; Chris and Sharilyn of Truckee, California; Dan and Teri of Orem, Utah; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grand-children; sister, Julia Petty of Sandy; brothers, Lloyd Eugene Hunt of Richfield; Ven Berl and Juana Hunt of Elsinore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Asahel; a daughter, Shirley Ann Sullivan; one grandson; three sisters and four brothers: Inez Michaelson, Ina Lee, Zella Hunt, Joseph LeRoy Hunt, John Donald Hunt, Loren Vivian Hunt and Harold Hunt.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 12 Noon in the Springer Turner Funeral Home Chapel, 260 North 400 West in Richfield, where friends may call for viewing Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
