SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Jacqueline Batteast scored 18 of her 27 points in the second half and No. 11 Notre Dame used a 23-0 run to beat No. 6 Rutgers 63-47 on Sunday, giving coach Muffet McGraw her 400th career win with the Irish.

Batteast scored the first 12 points of the second half for Notre Dame (16-3, 4-2 Big East), which trailed by as many as 13. The Scarlet Knights (13-4, 4-1), who shot 47 percent in the first half, shot just 17 percent in the second.

Chelsea Newton led Rutgers with 18 points, while Cappie Pondexter added 17.

Batteast was the only Irish player in double figures, but Megan Duffy had a career-high 11 assists.

No. 2 LSU 79, No. 17 VANDERBILT 68: At Nashville, Sylvia Fowles scored 20 of her 22 points in the second half, and the Lady Tigers never trailed in their fourth straight victory.

Seimone Augustus scored 20 points for LSU (18-1, 5-0 Southeastern Conference), which is off to its best SEC start ever. Wendlyn Jones had 13 points, and Scholanda Hoston added 11.

Dee Davis led Vanderbilt (13-5, 2-3) with 24 points. Ashley Earley and Carla Thomas each added 14.

NO. 3 OHIO ST. 71, NORTHWESTERN 59: At Columbus, Ohio, Brandie Hoskins scored 18 points to lead Ohio State to a 71-59 win over Northwestern, its 10th straight win over the Wildcats.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Ohio State (19-2, 6-1 Big Ten), which had another eight-game streak earlier this season.

Jessica Davenport added 14 points and Michelle Munoz had 11 for the Buckeyes.

Ifeoma Okonkwo scored 20 points and Sarah Kwasinski had 12 for Northwestern (4-16, 1-6). The Wildcats have lost four in a row and six of seven.

NO. 7 TENNESSEE 67, KENTUCKY 49: At Knoxville, Tenn., Shyra Ely scored 13 points and Tennessee held Kentucky to six field goals in the first half.

Former Tennessee assistant Mickie DeMoss was making her first appearance in Thompson-Boling Arena as an opposing coach, and the Lady Vol faithful gave her a warm welcome before the game.

But Tennessee (14-3, 4-0 Southeastern Conference) wasn't nice to the Wildcats once the game started, racing to a 22-2 lead midway through the first half. The Lady Vols also have won 38 regular-season league games in a row and 24 over the Wildcats.

Freshman Samantha Mahoney led the Wildcats (13-7, 2-3) with 15 points.

PENN ST. 73, NO. 8 MICHIGAN ST. 56: At State College, Pa., Tanisha Wright and Jess Strom each scored 24 points to help Penn State knock off another top-10 team.

Wright had 16 points in the second half, including 10 during a 25-7 run that put the Lady Lions (12-6, 7-0 Big Ten) ahead 67-51 with 2:36 left. That spurt erased a three-point deficit and ended a stretch of more than 6 minutes without a field goal.

The Lady Lions had already beaten No. 9 North Carolina and No. 3 Ohio State this year. Back-to-back wins against No. 24 Purdue and Michigan State this week may have been enough to move Penn State into the Top 25.

Lindsay Bowen scored 13 points to lead the Spartans (16-3, 5-2).

NO. 12 MINNESOTA 80, ILLINOIS 68: At Minneapolis, Kelly Roysland scored a career-high 19 points to lift Minnesota.

Janel McCarville had 16 points and nine rebounds while Jamie Broback and Shannon Schonrock each scored 12 points for Minnesota (16-3, 6-1 Big Ten), which shot 55 percent from the field and led 80-49 before the Illini scored the game's final 19 points.

Tiffanie Guthrie led Illinois (11-6, 3-4) with 26 points, and Angelina Williams added 24.

N.C. State 67, No. 16 Maryland 55: At College Park, Md., Billie McDowell had 18 points and nine rebounds, and North Carolina State handed Maryland its first home loss of the season.

Tiffany Stansbury and Khadija Whittington scored 16 points apiece for the Wolfpack (15-4, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference). It was the third straight win for NC State, which never trailed after taking control with a 16-0 run midway through the first half.

Crystal Langhorne had 13 points and 19 rebounds, and Kalika France scored 11 and for the Terrapins (13-4, 3-3), who fell to 9-1 at home.

NO. 18 DEPAUL 90, SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI 63: At Hattiesburg, Miss., Jenna Rubino, Allie Quigley and Caprice Smith each had 16 points for DePaul.

DePaul (15-3, 4-1 Conference USA) controlled the game from the beginning and led 48-27 at the half. Janni Dant added 15 points for DePaul and Khara Smith scored 13.

Shannon Sueber led Southern Miss (6-12, 1-5) with 20 points. Dianca Jones had 12 and Liz Biland added 10.

NO. 21 GEORGIA 67, MISSISSIPPI STATE 57: At Starkville, Miss., Tasha Humphey had 24 points and 12 rebounds to help Georgia rally.

Sherill Baker finished with 14 points and Megan Darrah added 10 for Georgia (15-5, 4-2 Southeastern Conference), which trailed by six at halftime.

Tan White led Mississippi State (14-4, 3-2) with 22 points. Rebecca Kates added 15 and Tiania Burns scored 11.

No. 24 Purdue 79, No. 22 Iowa 75: At West Lafayette, Ind., Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton scored a career-high 19 points and Katie Gearlds added 19 points and six assists to lead Purdue.

Gearlds scored 17 of her 19 in the second half, including three 3-pointers that helped the Boilermakers (11-7, 4-3) erase a seven-point deficit and snap their longest losing streak in five years.

Jamie Cavey had 22 points and six rebounds for Iowa (14-4, 3-4 Big Ten), which has lost four of its last five games after winning its first 13.
